Grace Carlson, APR, LEED Green Associate
President
Grace Carlson is Accredited in Public Relations through the Public Relations Society of America and the Florida Public Relations Association. She earned accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED Green Associate (LEED GA) in January, 2010. Upon receiving a bachelor's degree from University of South Florida where she majored in public relations and minored in journalism in 1986, she began her career in Sarasota, FL.
Through diverse career experiences - from media relations and communications with the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce to public relations for the Florida operations of Coldwell Banker, as well as stints as marketing director for healthcare organizations, professional service firms and news networks - Grace developed integrated marketing communication skills and a network of strategic, creative resources that enhance any public awareness or outreach campaign with which she's involved.
Married to sustainable architect, Michael Carlson, principal of Carlson Studio Architecture, they have 4 college-age children.
Grace gives back to her community through involvement in the Sarasota unit of the American Cancer Society where she serves as board chair and is an officer and member of the executive committee for SCOPE (Sarasota County Openly Plans for Excellence). She is a member of the Greater Sarasota and Manatee Chambers of Commerce and is a member in good standing with the Sarasota County Green Business Partnership.
